Customs clearance of incoming and outgoing passengers is an umbrella term for regulatory formalities under which the incoming and outgoing passengers, when entering or exiting from the territory of China at the places where the Customs are established, make declaration to the Customs and the Customs  inspect the baggage and articles carried by the passengers and conduct tax levy or exemption and release procedures or other regulatory formalities on inbound and outbound articles.
