What Are "Electronic Data of Manifests" of Inbound and Outbound Means of Transport? How Long Is Their Retention Period?

“Electronic Data of Manifests” of the inbound and outbound means of transport refer to the electronic manifest data transmitted to the Customs through EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) in accordance with the formats required by the Administrative Measures of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China for Transmission of Electronic Data of Manifests by the principals of inbound and outbound ships, aircrafts and trains or by their agents. The contents of the electronic manifests shall be consistent with corresponding paper manifests. 

Unless exceptional cases, the retention period of electronic manifest data is three years.
