Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Customs House Gets Ready for Asian Games

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport reports surge in passenger volume as the 16th Asian Games are drawing near. To ensure all the materials and related personnel go through Customs procedures smoothly, officers of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Customs House adopts tailor-made measures to increase work efficiency and gets well prepared for the Games.

The Customs administration is upgrading the infrastructure of the control venues, the control procedures and the contingency program with an aim to achieve higher efficiency at every node, for example, customs control at the temporary check posts and the arrival terminal, and the inspection work done through the baggage pre-examination and checking system and the baggage transfer and sorting system.

To create a more favorable clearance environment, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Customs House announced a series of supportive measures: special service counters, posters and screen-touch computers would be used to help the passengers; training courses and quizzes would be held to give more relevant information to Customs officers; experts would be there to teach hazardous articles disposal and contingency handling; bilingual officers would be sent to the fields to offer professional language services. More importantly, a series of contingency programs were devised under which liaison mechanism with relevant departments was established and contingency handling exercises were held.
