Hangzhou Seized 523.2 Thousand Infringing Batteries (with photo)

Jinhua Customs House (affiliated to Hangzhou Customs District) seized 2 infringing case in which 523.2 thousand batteries were suspected of infringing upon the trademark rights of “LG”.

On June 21, officers of Jinhua Customs House detected hundreds of cases whose outer packing with “LIGHT” logo of batteries without declaration when they were inspecting a consignment declared as footballs and pokers. Having opened the outer packing for in-depth examination, officers found a black “LG” pattern near the “positive” of a battery. They seized 337.2 thousand batteries which were suspected of infringing upon the trademark rights of “LG”.

On June 27, officers detected 186 thousand batteries suspected of infringing upon the rights of “LG” in the same infringement and hiding way once again when they were inspecting a consignment declared as battery chargers and emergency lamps.

As the owner can not provide authorization, at present, Jinhua Customs House withheld the two batches of goods in accordance with the provisions and transferred the cases to the relevant department for further treatment.
