2012-04-24
Officers of Shenzhen Customs District seized 73,000 pieces of counterfeit clothing valued at over RMB 1 million, the administration announced recently . NIKE、ADIDAS and PUMA are among the brands involved, said the Customs officers.
On March 7, when examining the export declaration form submitted by a company from Jiangxi Province, officers of Shekou Customs House (affiliated to Shenzhen Customs District) noticed several questionable points. The goods declared were 73,000 pieces of clothing with an unknown domestic brand name. However, the destination of the goods is a rich Western Asian Country where people usually don’t have much interest in non brand name clothes. Considering there might be infringement risks involved, Customs officers inspected the exports manually and found out that the clothes were marked with NIKE,ADIDAS、PUMA and other famous brand names.
On March 31, the related right holders confirmed that all the items seized were infringing ones. The investigation was continuing, said officers of Customs anti-smuggling bureau.
