The Customs gets the first inbound passenger through Zhuhai-Hong Kong passenger inspection channel.

On October 24, at 09:00 a.m., the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge officially opened to traffic. On the first day of operation, customs clearance ran smooth at Zhuhai highway port of the Bridge, including passenger inspection channel, passenger-car channel and goods transport channel.

According to the Bridge Office subordinate to Gongbei Customs, businesses can make declaration and clearance in advance owing to convenient measures such as nationwide clearance integration, paperless process and Guangdong expedite clearance for highway transport. The Zhuhai highway port has implemented “one-stop” clearance for vehicles from and to Hong Kong or Macao, releasing each vehicle via each check within 10 seconds on average, with the entry-to-exit duration not more than 3 minutes.

At Zhuhai-Hong Kong passenger inspection channel of the port, Gongbei Customs adopts intelligent visualized inspection and control, including such advanced equipment as CT luggage-examining smart sorting line, dynamic face recognition system, terahertz, and high-low temperature detector, so as to efficiently and precisely process luggage.  

At Zhuhai-Macao passenger inspection channel of the port, Gongbei Customs and Macao Health Bureau are collaborating in one-off inspection and quarantine on health. Their division of work is that the exit side conducts public health screening, while the entry side conducts further examination of passenger health, and that the two sides keep timely exchange and notification of health information.
