“Bonded Exhibition & Trading” Policy Helps Dali's Works Show Succeed
01/13/2016

Recently, Suzhou Industrial Park showed more than 200 original works made by surrealistic Spanish artist Salvador Dali including The Angel, Carlas Feast, The Giants, and Twelve Constellations. Since September 19, over 10,000 people had enjoyed the Dali's feastin less than 2 months, but few of them knew that the exhibition in Suzhou City should be owing to one Customs clearance policy called Bonded Exhibition and Trading.

The Bonded Exhibition and Trading policy, originating in Shanghai Pilot FTZ, enables Customs-registered business firms within Customs-controlled areas to, upon specific bond, transit bonded cargo out of the controlled areas for external exhibition and trading. This policy can greatly simplify the formalities for exhibition: exhibitors can import goods beforehand into a comprehensive bonded zone and, in a few days before exhibition, undertake relevant formalities.

According to Zhang Siwei, an exhibition company manager, if an exhibitor is registered with the Customs on general bond in advance, it will only need to send electronic data to the Customs for exhibition outside the bonded zone, without visiting the Customs. Even for an exhibition on tomorrow, theres still time for going through formalities today. As far as this Dali works show, we undertook the formalities just one day in advance and finally made it with the Customs help, said Zhang.

Most of the exhibited are valuable artworks from abroad and so very high in import duties and taxes, but through Bonded Exhibition and Trading policy, exhibitors can go into their exhibitions just by submitting bond to the Customs, thus their fund turnover relieved much. The policy, as one of innovations by Customs-controlled areas, covers entire Suzhou Industrial Park bonded zone and multifunctional trade zone and allows all internal firms to exhibit and trade their goods outside in a bonded way.
