On March 1, a chartered air freighter of Asiana Airlines landed at Yantai Penglai International Airport. Under the control of Yantai Customs House affiliated to Qingdao Customs District, 39-ton cargoes were smoothly released, marking the formal opening of Asiana-owned Yantai-Seoul airfreight route with transit to Europe and America.
This international airfreight route provides a fast track for Yantai's export of electronic products and import of foreign products, helping boost international logistics competiveness of the city.
To ensure the successful opening of this route, Yantai Customs worked out control programs in advance in light of frequent flights and large cargo capacity so as to streamline the clearance procedures for enterprises. Meanwhile, the Customs conducted morning and night shifts to watch the flights on site as well as around-the-clock reservation service for speedy cargo clearance.
By statistics, from January to February this year, the Customs inspected 108 airplanes inward and outward and released 1550 tons of cargoes totally .
