On August 14, after more than 20-hour flight, 63 giraffes from Johannesburg arrived at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport. It was the first time for Zhengzhou port to import South African giraffes, which came to China in the largest number in one batch by now.
The Airport Customs House made a clearance plan in advance for these living giraffes and carried out measures such as “declaration in advance, simplified procedures, inspection/release on arrival” along with measures like pre-classification, pre-valuation, pre-declaration and 24×7 hour on-duty service, and also carried out Customs-CIQ “3 Singles” Cooperation to work with the airport inspection quarantine agency in the inspection and release of the giraffes, so as to transit them to a temporary quarantine station in Qinyang city as soon as possible.
South African giraffes arrived at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport.
Customs officers were inspecting the giraffes from South Africa.
