On April 8, Vice Minister Sun Yibiao met with Ms. Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch, visiting Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs at the headquarters of China Customs.

The two sides reviewed progress in Customs cooperation since the implementation of the China-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement and exchanged views on issues related to the implementation. Vice Minister Sun proposed to increase coordination through a better institutional arrangement to ensure full implementation of the FTA, to promote e-verification through accelerated negotiations on technical issues, and to guarantee access of compliant businesses to FTA preferential treatments through Customs collaboration in AEO.

Ineichen agreed with the proposals, acknowledged the role of China Customs in FTA implementation and expressed readiness to offer support in deepening Customs cooperation between the two countries.
