Vice Minister Zhang Jiwen meets with Mr. Guy Parmelin, Federal Councilor of the Swiss Confederation, Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research.

From June 14 to 15, Vice Minister Zhang Jiwen visited Switzerland.

Vice Minister Zhang had a meeting with Mr. Guy Parmelin, Federal Councilor of the Swiss Confederation, Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, exchanging views on the issues such as strengthening cooperation on inspection and quarantine for promoting China-Switzerland economic and trade relations. The two sides signed Joint Intent of Cooperation between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research of the Swiss Confederation on Establishing a Cooperation and Safety Assurances Mechanism in the Areas of Food & Consumer Product Safety and Plant Protection & Quarantine.

During his visit, Vice Minister Zhang held working exchanges with Mr. Geng Wenbing, Chinese Ambassador to Switzerland, and Mr. Zhao Qinghua, Consul-General in Zurich, and paid visits to Nestle’s Konolfingen factory and Emmi cheese factory.
