SHANGHAI, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Customs said Monday that it has expedited clearance procedures for a batch of materials to help fight locust swarms and prevent a coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan.

The 70 tonnes of materials included 63 tonnes of pesticide -- dangerous goods for air transport that require a large amount of documentation. The Customs set up a special team and launched a green channel to ensure the timely processing of the goods.

In addition, 14 high-efficiency remote spray machines and 501 cases of coronavirus testing kits were on board the cargo flight operated by China Eastern Airlines.

The Customs said the flight landed in Karachi on March 9.
