Vice Minister Zhang Jiwen signs a document with Mart Jarvik, Minister of Rural Affairs of Estonia.

From June 19 to 21, Vice Minister Zhang Jiwen visited Estonian Ministry of Rural Affairs and Tax and Customs Board.

Vice Minister Zhang Jiwen had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Mart Jarvik , Minister of Rural Affairs of Estonia, during which they exchanged views on the issues such as the quarantine access of imported beef, poultry meat, dairy products, cod, grain, and breeding cattle from Estonia to China, as well as establishing phytosanitary cooperation mechanism and strengthening food safety cooperation. The two sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen the Cooperation on Safety Issues of Imported and Exported Food.

Vice Minister Zhang had a bilateral meeting with Valdur Laid, Director General of Estonian Tax and Customs Board, with whom he exchanged views on ushering in China-Estonia customs cooperation under China-EU cooperation mechanism, promoting AEO mutual recognition and implementation, participating in Secure and Smart Trade Lanes program and carrying out cooperation in fighting against smuggling.

During his visit, Vice Minister Zhang held working exchanges with Mr. Li Chao, Chinese Ambassador to Estonia, and also paid visits to Estonian poultry meat, dairy products and beef processing enterprises.
