On June 28, a batch of electric plastic toys of Huaxing Technology Company cleared customs and exported to Slovakia from Shantou, Guangdong Province. During the pandemic period, the Company keeps selling its toy products to many countries involved in the “Belt and Road” such as Russia, Thailand and Slovakia.

Despite the impact of COVID-19, Shantou-based toy manufacturers retain steady trade with the “Belt and Road” countries/regions without big delay. By statistics, from January till May, toy exports from Shantou thereto totaled 3.33 billion yuan in value, accounting for 55.1% of the total, up 1.2 times year-on-year.  

According to Chenghai Customs House subordinate to Shantou Customs District, since the epidemic outbreak, they use a special technical research platform to precisely support local toy enterprises regarding product quality/safety, IPR protection, technical-trade-barrier countermeasures, certification of origin, etc. and they also try best to expedite clearance process, postpone processing deadline, and reduce customs formalities in order to ensure the steady trade with “Belt and Road” countries/regions.
