At the end of June, South China Wildlife Identification Center confirmed that one 70cm-tall, tens-of-jin Buddha statue,  seized by Gongbei Customs, was made from the shells of giant clams that are listed in Appendix Ⅱ of the “Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora” (CITES).
