Hangzhou Customs Transfers Third-Grade Paleontological Fossils under Key Protection

On May 14, Hangzhou Customs transferred to Zhejiang Geological Museum a batch of confiscated paleontological fossils including wood fossils, coral fossils, and mollusk fossils. Through identification, among these fossils, 9 pieces of midsize silicified wood are categorized as the third grade paleontological fossils under key protection, while the others are under general protection.

 


As per China’s regulations on the protection of paleontological fossils, these paleontological fossils were transferred by the Customs to Zhejiang Geological Museum via Shaoxing City Bureau of Land and Resources.
