From May 26 to 28, Minister Ni Yuefeng visited Portugal.
Minister Ni Yuefeng met with Mr. Mario Centen, Minister of Ministry of Finance of the Portuguese Republic and held bilateral meetings with Mr. Fernando Rocha Andrade, Secretary of State, Ministry of Finance of the Portuguese Republic and Mrs. Helena Borges, Taxation and Customs Authority of the Portuguese Republic, and discussed the implementation of the consensus reached between the two heads of states, the service of the Belt and Road Initiative and security and facilitation cooperation on China-Portugal supply chain. Minister Ni Yuefeng and Mr. Fernando Rocha Andrade signed Memorandum of Understanding on Enhancing Cooperation between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Taxation and Customs Authority of the Portuguese Republic .
During the meeting with Mr. Luis Capoulas Santos, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development of the Portuguese Republic, the two sides exchanged views on the export of Portuguese fruits, meat and other agricultural products to China, and reached an agreement on strengthening the inspection and quarantine cooperation between China and Portugal to ensure the quality and safety of agricultural products supplied to each other. After the meeting, they signed Memorandum of Understanding between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development of the Portuguese Republic on Cooperation of Plant Inspection and Quarantine and Inspection, Quarantine and Veterinary Protocol between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development of the Portuguese Republic.
During his visit, Minister Ni Yuefeng also had a work communication with Cai Run, Chinese Ambassador to Portugal and paid a visit to the Port of Sines and investigated the application of electronic clearance and inspection equipment in Portuguese Customs. The delegation also visited Portugal Lista Recycled Metal Co., Ltd, Huawei Branch in Portugal, and fruit processing plants.
