On June 27, Mr. Lyu Bin, Vice Minister and Head of Guangdong Sub-Administration co-chaired a bilateral meeting with Mr. Mikio Kajikawa, Director General of Customs and Tariff Bureau in Tokyo, Japan.

Both sides actively valued the headway made in customs cooperation between the two countries, and reached consensus on several issues. Firstly, the existed cooperation mechanism should be improved. Secondly, cooperation should be strengthened in combating smuggling. Thirdly, collaboration should be enhanced in AEO mutual recognition. Fourthly, Intellectual Property Right protection should be facilitated. Fifthly, twining projects should be promoted. Sixthly, both sides should push forward the cooperation under the regional frameworks such as China-Japan-Korea cooperation as well as the international frameworks such as the World Customs Organization (WCO).

On the same day, Vice Minister Lyu visited Tokyo Customs and exchanged in-depth perspectives with the head of Tokyo Customs on strengthening the twining project cooperation and service to the enterprises.
