Chongqing Customs Fast Clears Porsche Cars Imported through China Railway Express amid Epidemic Outbreak
03/02/2020

Recently, Chongqing Porsche Centre called Yuzhou Customs House, Chongqing Customs District for help with the import of cars. Since last year, Chongqing Porsche Centre has been importing Porsche cars from Europe through China Railway Express (Chongqing), with an annual quantity of 8,000 finished cars. But now, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, processes of railway transportation, port transits and domestic distributions are prolonged. Once the company fails to deliver the cars on schedule, it will be subject to unbearable liability.

In response, Yuzhou Customs House immediately implemented the emergency plan for supporting enterprises to resume business. Most of the clearance procedures are handled online through Single Window and “Internet+Customs” platforms. The Customs also coordinated with a third-party company for automotive testing to provide expeditious services on a reservation basis. Arrangements were made to ensure that Customs officers and personnel of the testing company are onsite at different time periods to reduce direct contact.

On February 16, the Customs House fast cleared 82 imported Porsche cars, with only 4 minutes spent on each car from declaration till release.
