On November 9, Vice Minister Sun Yibiao met with Ms. Dana Meager, Vice President of the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic in Beijing.
The two sides spoke highly of the bilateral economic and trade relationship as well as customs cooperation. Vice Minister Sun put forward five proposals on strengthening cooperation. Firstly, the two sides should actively participate in the Belt and Road cooperation and cooperation between China and Central and Eastern Europe countries, deepen the alignment of the customs cooperation strategies between the two sides and establish liaison and coordination mechanism. Secondly, both sides should boost technology exchanges on supervision equipment to improve customs control. Thirdly, the two Customs should enhance cooperation in combating commercial frauds, deepen intelligence exchanges and experience sharing. Fourthly, the two sides should actively participate in the trade security and facilitation cooperation, implement the AEO mutual recognition arrangement, promote the third phase of China-EU Smart and Secure Trade Lanes Pilot Project, and push forward institutionalized cooperation in solid wastes control. Fifthly, China Customs welcome Slovakian Customs to send attachés to China, in order to further develop communication between relevant departments of the two sides.
Ms. Meager agreed on the above proposals, and expressed the wish to maintain and deepen friendly cooperation between China Customs and Slovakian Customs.
