For the construction of Bayannur Agricultural Production Base in Inner Mongolia, Hohhot Customs has been actively serving local foreign trade in agricultural products with innovative service concepts following international trade trend.
According to Customs statistics, during January-February, Bayannur City exported 39,000 tons of sunflower seeds, up 2.3% year-on-year (YOY); 2,228.5 tons of pumpkin seeds, up 48.6% YOY; 340 tons of other seeds or kernels, 67 times YOY.
Regarding the growth-oriented agricultural trade, the Customs regularly visits Bayannur leading exporters to investigate their production and export processes onsite; and visits local commerce administrations to learn the scales of specialty products like sunflower seeds and dehydrated vegetables, predicting the export trends by risk analysis.
Regarding customs clearance, the Customs set up a fast track in reservation mode for agricultural exports, ensuring higher efficiency. Meanwhile, the Customs closely collaborated with local CIQ agency by “three mutuals” (mutual exchange of information, mutual recognition of controls, and mutual assistance of enforcement) to share agricultural export varieties and quantities, avoiding repetition of inspection, so as to achieve “one-stop” control.
