01/03/2018

Recently, a serious ivory smuggling case was transferred to Chinese procuratorial organ by Gongbei Customs. It was the largest smuggling case of endangered wildlife products that Gongbei Customs has ever seized in the campaign known as “National Sword 2017”.

In June 2017, Gongbei Customs busted up one ivory smuggling ring, which smuggled 189 kilograms of ivories inward from Macao SAR. All ivories are banned from trade by CITES.

In the process, Gongbei Customs managed to nab 7 criminal suspects, 3 vehicles, 25 pieces of ivories totaling 130 kilograms in 4 packs, and illicit money totaling 116,400 yuan.
