On May 4, Zhakou Customs House (affiliated to Gongbei Customs District) successively cracked 3 cases of passenger smuggling jade articles, totally 774 articles seized.

On that afternoon, customs officers seized 676 pieces of jade articles like bracelets, pendants from two luggage carried by passengers surnamed Wu and Luo. On that night, another 98 pieces of jade articles and raw gemstones were seized from another incoming passenger.

The Customs reminds that jade articles worth not more than RMB5,000 within proper quantity for private use may be exempted from tax pay and that, if a jade article is cultural relic, it should be subject to the regulations on cultural relic entry/exit.
