Customs officers inspect the smuggled secondhand excavators.

In line with GACC requirements for “National Sword 2019”, Huangpu Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau recently carried out anti-smuggling operation on secondhand excavators made in Japan. On June 25, 259 officers in 32 groups acting simultaneously in different cities, totally busted up 3 smuggling rings, captured 11 criminal suspects, and seized a number of smuggled-in secondhand excavators as well as documentary evidences. The value involved was 1.82 billion yuan or so. 

With lower prices on their import declaration, these secondhand excavators were smuggled into the mainland via Hong Kong in which their nameplates, code and model information had been illegally changed by import agents.

At present, this case is under further investigation.
