Customs officers inspect the IPR-infringing desk-fan power cord.
Recently, a Chongqing-based company declared to Zhongshan Customs House of Gongbei Customs District an export shipment of desk fans. Customs officers found the desk fans accompanied by a total of 2,700 power cords with “CSA” and “UL and graphic” logos, suspected of infringing the trademark rights registered with China Customs by Canadian Standard Association (CSA) and Underwriter Laboratories Inc. (UL) respectively. On May 29, both IPR holders confirmed in writing that the power cords were counterfeit products. Currently the Customs has detained this shipment for further investigation.
During January-May this year, Gongbei Customs took totally 79 batches of IPR enforcements and detained 30,000 infringing commodities worth over 700,000 Yuan, showing good results from the IPR protection.
