It was strange that expensive “famous-branded” watches were casually packed into woven bags. Recently, Gaoqi Airport Customs House (affiliated to Xiamen Customs District) found the bizarre case on its passenger control spot. And then, all those 300 watches were detained and identified as infringing ones, which is the biggest record of seized infringing watches carried by outgoing passengers in the Customs House in recent years.
At about 14:00 on September 28, two passengers wanted to take MF819 flight to Manila. When exercising control over their luggage, the customs officers found their two woven bags full of “Casio” watches. Casio brand and trademark are now under the intellectual property rights protection by China Customs, but the passengers could not give relevant certificates. By identification, those watches, totally 300 pieces, were infringing on Casio IPR.
