On the evening of July 2, 800 kilograms of Osmanthus-flavored lychee fruits were exported by air to Thailand from Zengcheng, Guangzhou City after being quarantined by Zengcheng Customs House (subordinate to Huangpu Customs District). This export signaled the first access of Zengcheng-featured lychees into the ASEAN market.
This May, Huangpu Customs’ Quarantine Department held a symposium on fruits export with Zengcheng agricultural administration and enterprises, providing policy interpretations and “one-on-one” business guidance covering registration of local orchards and package plants, fruit quality control as per foreign quarantine and safety requirements, and compliant declarations to customs.
To facilitate the export of fresh lychees, Zengcheng Customs House provides 24-hour reservation services for inspection, certification and clearance. Meanwhile, the Customs keeps strict traceability management including close supervision over orchards and package plants in terms of their production, processing, pest control, pesticide residue detection, etc. to ensure the quality competitiveness of the export fruits.
