According to Shanghai Customs announcement on April 19, Pudong Airport Customs House recently cracked a drug smuggling case involving net 979.07 grams of heroin, with one foreign male suspect detained.
On March 3, the foreign passenger from Africa arrived by flight at Pudong Airport. Through passenger-luggage control, his luggage was X-rayed abnormal. After inspection manually, the officers found packs of white powder and identified them to be heroin, totaling 979.07 grams.
The Customs, by using intelligent background analyzer, targeted the suspect in advance and real-timely monitored airliner bridge location, checkpoint, and luggage turntable to intercept him rightly.
By the Customs statistics, since last year, Pudong Airport officers have cracked 3 such cases through passenger-luggage control, seizing 3.75kg heroin.
The suspected powder was identified to be heroin.
