Minister Yu Guangzhou Meets With Vice Premier and Concurrently Minister of Finance of Laos

On September 8, Minister Yu Guangzhou met with Mr. Somdy Douandy, Laos Vice Premier and Concurrently Minister of Finance in Vientiane.

Both sides spoke highly of bilateral economic and trade relations and customs cooperation. Mr. Somdy Douandy conveyed his sincere appreciation to China Customs for its support to and collaboration with Laos Customs .

In order to advance the cooperation between China and Laos Customs, both sides agreed on the following five aspects. Firstly, dock the Belt and Road Initiative with the Laos national strategies, enhance mutual exchange of information, mutual recognition of controls and mutual assistance of enforcement, promote the regional connectivity and improve regional integration. Secondly, boost facilitative cooperation on customs clearance, establish the cooperation mechanism, and ensure the efficiency of border ports. Thirdly, support the construction on key bilateral projects such as the China-Laos Railway Project to guarantee the facilitation of customs clearance in terms of the railway and highway.

Fourthly, deepen the cooperation on capacity building and develop the communication and training on tax collection and law enforcement. Lastly, implement the newly signed collaboration documents.
