On April 20, Mr. Hu Chunhua, Member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, visited Capital Airport Customs House (subordinate to Beijing Customs District) to observe the front-line work after integration of entry-exit inspection and quarantine into Customs. Vice Premier Hu stressed that Customs should, under the guidance of President Xi Jinping’s Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era, raising "Four Consciousness (namely the consciousnesses of the ideology, the whole, the core and the line)", follow the unified arrangements by both CPC Central Committee and the State Council to complete the Customs-quarantine integration as scheduled and subsequently put follow-up organizational reform tasks into practice, thus ensuring that all reform tasks can be completed as required, in a timely manner with step-by-step measures.

Vice Premier Hu visited the Capital Airport Customs control site and inspection center for inward passengers, observing the operation procedures by inquiring the front-line officers of their work in details. According to the Vice Premier, in the face of arduous reform tasks, Customs has done a great deal of fruitful work, and customs and quarantine functions have been smoothly integrated in a short period of time, which is a good start with optimization in both passenger processing and inspection procedures as well as higher efficiency in customs clearance. The Customs shall take new actions for greater achievements at a new starting point, including accelerating the deeper integration between customs and quarantine functions to achieve unification in declaration of documents, in operation systems, in risk analysis, in order issuance, and in onsite law enforcement, thus providing tangible services in a more efficient and convenient manner for enterprises and inward/outward passengers.
