From June 11 to 13, Vice Minister Sun Yibiao Headed a delegation of China Customs to attend the 125th /126th Annual Sessions of the World Customs Organization’s Council in Brussels, Belgium.
Vice Minister Sun proactively participated in the discussions on e-commerce, the revision of the Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade (SAFE), capacity building, tariff and trade affairs after the WCO Secretary General delivered his annual report. Responding to the report, Vice Minister Sun briefed the Council the “Connectivity and Win-Win development- Forum for Heads of Customs Administrations along the Belt & Road” held by China Customs in Xi’an and expressed the willingness of China Customs to cooperate closely with other WCO Member Customs Administrations to further promote connectivity in “the Belt and Road” region by utilizing the WCO instruments.
The Council sessions elected Directors of Tariff and Trade Affairs, Compliance and Facilitation and Capacity Building. Mr. Liu Ping from China Customs was elected as Director of Tariff and Trade Affairs.
