On September 12, Vice Minister Sun Yibiao met with Mr. Tamas Molnar, Vice State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Economy and Concurrently the Customs Commissioner-general in Hungary.
Both sides spoke highly of China-Hungary economic and trade relations and customs cooperation. They reached consensus on the enhancement of cooperation in four aspects. Firstly, enhance mutual cooperation in customs and expand practical cooperation in the area of trade security and facilitation. Secondly, push the multilateral and regional customs cooperation mechanism concerning the Belt and Road Initiative and upgrade cooperation level of regional customs. Thirdly, keep pushing the 3rd stage development of the China-EU Secure and Smart Trade Lane project, the mutual recognition of Authorized Economic Operator schemes and the cooperation on capacity building. Lastly, strengthen the cooperation between the customs and enterprises and coordinate cross-border customs procedures.
On the same day, Vice Minister Sun visited the Capacity Building Regional Office of the World Customs Organization for European Region.
During the visit, Vice Minister Sun met with Mr. Duan JieLong, the Chinese Ambassador to the Hungary and briefed that both China and Hungary Customs were pushing the cooperation concerning the Belt and Road Initiative, implementing outcomes of the meetings between China and Central and Eastern European leaders and enhancing collaboration in implementing the China-Europe Land and Sea Express Initiative. They also exchanged views in association with the clearance procedures of Chinese enterprises in Hungary.
