In Huangpu Customs District, a total of 500 secondhand cars were exported from Xinsha Port to Benin, a country located in west Africa, by the ro-ro ship “GLOVIS” on November 20. This export of secondhand cars, valued at 3 million US dollars, has been in the largest quantity across China till now.
“The maiden voyage of the ro-ro ship from Xinsha to Benin laid a solid foundation for our export of secondhand cars and marked a milestone of Xinsha Port as the export logistic hub for secondhand cars. Huangpu Customs finished clearance procedures at higher efficiency, helping us grasp the export business opportunity, ” said General Manager, Hu Zhihao, of Guangdong Haoche Supply Chain Company.
According to information from Xinsha Customs House, the Customs set a special control area to efficiently support the Company in terms of vehicle transfer registration, export license, origin certification, port clearance and other procedures. They used a mutual assistance mechanism with the Company, providing policy consultation, batch declaration and expedite clearance services and monitoring the cargo stockpile, shipping route and schedule, export inspection, etc. As a result, they took only 2 hours to finish all clearance procedures of the 500 cars that were declared by 96 batches.
