On February 16, at about 11:30 a.m., the vehicle with inward horses drove into Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC)’s training ground in Conghua City. Local Customs officers carefully inspected the vehicle and the Customs seal on it and verified the two horses’ identity, finishing the clearance with high efficiency. The two horses, as the second batch of testing horses operated by Guangzhou HKJC Race Horse Training Limited, were imported only to test customs-clearance process and environment for the Conghua racecourse project and later would be re-exported on February 17.
To help Conghua build a world-class racing-horse training base with normalized horse cross-border transportation, Conghua Customs House (affiliated to Guangzhou Customs District) actively communicated and cooperated with Hong Kong Jockey Club and China Inspection-Quarantine (CIQ) agency on the trial operation of horse entry-exit clearance, particularly dispatching officers to field inspection and streamlining clearance procedures to improve the cross-border process mode, thus gaining relevant experiences.
Customs officers were inspecting the inward horses on the spot.
