Chengdu Customs Clears Exported Bamboo as Food for Overseas Giant Pandas

On February 13, Mianyang Customs House in Chengdu Customs District inspected 9 pieces or 527 kilograms of fresh bamboo to be exported to Russia as food for giant pandas in the country, then issued electronic account and phytosanitary certificate for the products, which marked the Customs’ completion of clearance for the 9th batch of bamboo fodder for overseas giant pandas since the Spring Festival of 2020.


To facilitate exportation clearance amid the current epidemic outbreak, customs officers are on call 24/7 for timely inspection and quarantine.


 According to statistics, Mianyang Customs House has, since the Spring Festival, cleared a total of 2,554 kilograms of fresh bamboo as food for giant pandas living in Canada, Russia and other countries.
