Nanning Customs Seizes Smuggled Rare Animal Products
11/18/2016

On October 31, in Nanning Customs District, Pingxiang Customs House captured a large-scale smuggling of rare wild animal products, totalling about 17 tons of giant clams and products, 109 hawksbill products, as well as 1,110 conchs.

While inspecting an inward car carrying conchs as so declared, Pingxiang Customs officers found endangered giant clams and hawksbills hidden within the conchs. Then, the Customs conducted thorough inspection of all the consignment declared as conchs and also tracked all released cars on suspicion. That day, 5 mini-cars were intercepted on site with those endangered species products.
