Shantou Customs Issues Non-Card E-Port Digital Certificate
09/13/2019

On August 23, China E-Port Data Center’s Shantou Branch issued cryptographic equipment digital certificates to e-commerce enterprises for the first time, marking a new stage of cross-border e-commerce digitization in the east of Guangdong Province.

The digital certificate is used for E-Port users’ ID authentication to access cross-border e-commerce operating system. With service life up to 20 years, the new version of digital certificate is more secure and reliable than ever in encrypted transmission on the e-signature basis.

Eligible E-Port users can apply to the Customs for issuing the digital certificate. The enterprises awarded with the digital certificate can directly access cross-border e-commerce import information system without having to use IC card and USB key as the media, thus saving relevant costs.

By means of the digital certificate, cross-border e-commerce platforms run by enterprises can achieve stronger capacity in document processing, so as to break through the bottleneck of traditional data transmission.
