Xiamen Customs Seizes 91,000 IPR-Infringing Cartoon Cards
11/02/2020

On October 21, Disney trademark owner applied to Xiamen Customs for IPR protection as 91,000 cartoon-character cards with the Disney trademark, earlier seized by the Customs, were confirmed to be infringing on the trademark right.

A few days ago, Xiamen Customs received the export declaration of cartoon cards. Through cargo inspection, customs officers found all these cards printed with the figure of Anna from the cartoon “Frozen” and the watermark of Disney in the center, but the exporter had no certificate on the trademark right. Therefore, the Customs contacted Disney trademark owner to confirm the infringement.

Now, the counterfeit cards are detained under further investigation by the Customs.
