On January 29, Shanghai Customs fast cleared a consignment of supplies for prevention and control of the novel coronavirus-related pneumonia at Pudong International Airport. The supplies, including 19,948 face masks and 10,861 sets of protective clothes, worth USD85,950 in total, were donated by the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
In coordination with Wuhan Red Cross Society and Wuhan Customs, Shanghai Customs released the supplies upon registration, before appropriate formalities are completed, and facilitated quick pick-up with timely and effective supervision, so that the clearance time was minimized. The donated supplies are now on the way to Wuhan for anti-epidemic uses.
