Customs Clearance of Inward/Outward Passengers' Carried Baggage

Baggage carried by passengers coming into and going out of China Customs territory shall be declared to the Customs factually. There are two channels set up for passengers to go through Customs: “Things-to-declare Channel” and “Nothing-to-declare Channel”. Passengers may choose the appropriate channel in accordance with the Customs regulations. Passengers who “do not understand the Customs regulations” or “do not know how to choose the channel” shall go through the “Things-to-declare Channel”. No matter which channel the passengers choose, baggage carried by them cannot resist the inspection from the Customs.

Baggage carried by passengers shall be limited to reasonable quantity for personal use. The term “personal use” means private use only or for presenting gifts to relatives or friends, but not for selling or lending. The term “reasonable quantity” means the normal quantities based on the travel purpose and the length of residing time.
