China-EU AEO Mutual Recognition Helps Ningbo Firms “Go Global”

With high-grade AEO certificate, we will be more competitive in EU market and will get a new vitality for our development, said one manager of Ningbo Boway Alloy Material Co., Ltd, who was confident with the prospect of the Company that has passed AEO certification by Ningbo Customs on September 29, 2015.

 

The aforesaid new vitality for Boway Company referred to China-EU Mutual Recognition of AEOs, which was put into force on November 1. From now on, Chinas AEO firms can enjoy the same facilitation as EU-certified AEOs in export/import clearance at any of 28 member Customs Administrations of the EU.

 

Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) refers to a system set up by the World Customs Organization (WCO) to build a cooperative partnership between Customs authority and business circles for trade security and facilitation. By using this system, Customs authority will certify the enterprises that are creditable, law-abiding and better in security measures and then give them facilitation in customs clearance. An AEO firm can get benefits from Customs control. When they export to AEO mutual-recognition countries/regions, they can get easier and faster clearance provided by the Customs both at their home and destination  countries, at fewer cost in logistics and clearance.

 

We frequently export cargos to the EU countries like Germany and Belgium. On China-EU mutual recognition of AEOs, we can enjoy the same clearance faciliation as EU-certified AEOs, with much less formalities and less time in clearance, to greatly help us expand our EU market, said the manager of Boway Company.

According to Ningbo Customs statistics, after the formal launch of the mutual recognition, totally 102 AEO firms in Ningbo City can enjoy clearance faciliation in the EU Customs territory when they access the EU market. Thus the AEO mutual recognition will give a new vitality to enterprises in Zhejiang Province for going global.
