On August 7, a cargo ship with 15,000 tons of ethane arrived at the port of Taizhou and unloaded under the control of Taizhou Customs House in Nanjing Customs District.

This consignment of import ethane will be used for a local project of light hydrocarbon utilization and storage with an annual output of 1.1 million tons, which belongs to SP Chemicals (Taixing) Company Ltd. Trial production under the project will begin in late August.

In line with the import requirements, Taizhou Customs House designated an expert team in special control of such flammable and explosive goods, and provided technical support for relevant firms in terms of commodity classification, documentary declarations, duty guarantee insurance, etc.

On the arrival of the ship, Customs officers immediately conducted clearance formalities including document examinations, on-board inspection and quarantine, and cargo unloading under supervision, so as to ensure the implementation of the local alkene project.
