Recently, a batch of men’s pullovers made of chemical fiber and other goods worth USD 110,000 were successfully exported to Japan by Ningbo Shenzhou Knitwear Co., Ltd. After being declared via Ningbo Customs District’s cross-border E-commerce export service platform.
According to the statistics of Ningbo Customs District, the accumulated export value had exceeded USD 130 million since the official launch of the pilot project of Ningbo’s cross-border E-commerce export service on May 28, 2015, and export value reached USD 120 million in September. 38 enterprises, which adopt B2B, B2C and other business models, have been involved in the pilot project. Ningbo’s cross-border E-commerce export service has shown the momentum of rapid growth.
Zhan Ying, Deputy General Manager of a pilot enterprise of Ningbo United Group Import and Export Co., Ltd. Said, ”as a foreign trade agency, our company exports various types of goods. Delayed shipment, missing goods and other situations happened a lot during export due to inaccurate classification of goods and other reasons. Those problems have been solved by doing a good job in recording of goods and manifest declaration with the Customs in advance under cross-border mode, which makes clearance more easier.”
Yang Shuyun, Business Manager of a pilot enterprise of Ningbo Handing International Logistics Co., Ltd. in Ningbo Export Processing Zone, believes that cross-border E-commerce export service has provided a new business idea for export distribution enterprises in the area under special control of the customs. “As a warehousing enterprise in the area, we have turned our company into a foreign companies’ ‘overseas warehouse’ in China. Order placement, gathering, distribution and delivery are all completed via online platform, which both saved time and expanded our business channels.
To facilitate balanced and rapid development of Ningbo’s cross-border E-commerce import and export service, help enterprises expand their business and explore their market by taking advantage of this new business form, further improve Ningbo’s vitality in foreign trade and create new growth points for the development of export-oriented economy, Ningbo Customs District has launched cross-border E-commerce export service, and provided great convenience to the pilot enterprises by introducing a series of support measures of early inspection, whole process online operation and information feedback on business platform, tracking by dedicated customs personnel as well as declaration, gathering and release of manifests.
