Fuzhou Customs Seizes Quarantine Pests in Import Wood

Recently in Fuzhou Customs District, quarantine pests including red fire ants and Brentidae weevils were seized by Rongcheng Customs House in two consignments of walnut wood from the USA. It was for the first time that alien Brentidae weevils were seized at a port in Fujian Province.

Under the control of Rongcheng Customs, the two batches of walnut wood have been quarantined and fumigated by methyl bromide. With the results up to standard, the Customs released the import wood.
