Xiamen Customs Seizes 74-Tons Waste Plastic Films that are Import-Restricted

Customs Seizes Waste Plastic Films that are Import-Restricted.

On August 29, a professional institution identified that about 74 tons of polyester films, earlier seized by Xiamen Customs, were import-restricted solid waste, marking Xiamen Customs’ first seizure of such kind this year.

The import was declared “polyester films” from South Korea, totaling 145.07 tons in 6 containers. Therein, 3 containers were filled with 73.91 tons of solid-waste PET, PE and PP films that were incompliant with the standard on plastic resin products and subject to the import restriction of China.

Now, the restricted films have been transferred to the anti-smuggling department for investigation.
