Changsha Customs Serves International Mineral & Gem Expo Clearance
05/29/2019

The 7th China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Expo (CMGE) opened in Chenzhou City, Hunan Province on May 17, drawing in 37 foreign exhibitors from 14 countries/regions including USA, Italy and India. In serving this Expo, Changsha Customs cleared inbound exhibits such as minerals and fossils totaling 118.17 tons and conducted radioactivity detection, animal and plant quarantine and health quarantine.

For the expo, Changsha Customs used customs exhibit control system, together with the “Single Window” and “Internet + Customs” platforms, to register, clear, control and write off the exhibits, achieving automatic declaration, paperless approval and overall supervision. In the most cases, online transaction replaced field visit to customs site, making clearance much convenient for enterprises.

To ensure efficient inspection over the various goods, the Customs not only set special inspection yards at two ports of entry, but also provided temporary inspection yards at the expo center, including container pool, temporary detention area, and quarantine area.
