Qingdao Customs Control Center for Multimodal Transportation Operates

On the morning of December 27, 2014, to the sound of the train, 70 containers of textiles, foods and electronic products left Qingdao and started their “trip” to foreign countries, taking the first train that runs under the multimodal transportation mode. The train would take the products to the port for the shipment to the U.S.A., Southeast Asia and some other foreign places. With the first training’s running and the operation of Qingdao Customs Control Center for Multimodal Transportation, Qingdao becomes the first city in the coastal area in the eastern part of the country to have a Customs Control Center for Multimodal Transportation.

Qingdao Customs Control Centerfor Multimodal Transportation, which is located along Jiaozhou Bay, has great strengths in terms of sea, rail and air transportation. The Center, upon its opening, will make best out of its geographical advantages and control resources to operate in a highly efficient and cost-effective way.
