On June 23, Vice Minister Lu Peijun held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Julian Würtenberger, Director General of German Customs at the General Administration of Customs of China in Beijing.

The two sides positively evaluated the cooperation between China-Germany Customs. Vice Minister Lu put forward two proposals on furthering cooperation, Firstly, to strengthen cooperation on cracking down on commercial fraud, smuggling of cigarettes and endangered species, and intellectual property rights infringement. Secondly, to deepen pragmatic cooperation in fields including trade facilitation, working dog training, capacity building, and coordination in WCO affairs. Mr. Julian Würtenberger responded positively on the above proposals, expressing the great importance that German Customs has attached to the cooperation with China Customs, and his wish to actively push forward the pragmatic cooperation in all fields between the two sides.
