In Dalian Customs District, the world’s second smart VLCC (very large crude carrier) “New Vision” (with 308,000-ton capacity) exited from the port of Dalian under the control of Gangwan Customs House on August 29. This ship was also the second VLCC cleared by Dalian Customs since two months ago.

The “New Vision” crude carrier, made by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company Limited, has five smart web-based functions including aided autopilot, intelligent liquid-cargo management, comprehensive energy-efficiency management, equipment operational maintenance, and integrated ship-shore communication, and it is awarded by China Classification Society with the classification characters of i-SHIP and OMBO.   

Before the clearance, Gangwan Customs House reached out to relevant enterprises and provided “one-on-one” services to solve problems; ensured efficient control by closely checking the ship supplies information and declaration documents; helped enterprises audit their unit consumption by means of self-declaration, automatic system audit and customs review, thus coordinating enterprise standardization with customs regulation.
