Customs seizure of smuggled frozen food

 

On January 16, as per GACC deployment for “Nation-Gate Sword 2019” anti-smuggling operation, Huangpu Customs anti-smuggling force, collaborating with Guangdong Coast Guard officers, intercepted a suspicious ship on the waters near Zhuhai City and onboard seized about 500 tons of frozen food being smuggled inward, including chicken feet, chicken wings, beef and steaks, with 3 criminal suspects captured; on the same day, the Customs also seized 800 tons of frozen food being smuggled inward by water near Dongguan City, capturing 3 criminal suspects. This case was valued at 40 million Yuan in whole.  

 

Without undergoing inspection and quarantine, the smuggled frozen food is in big potential safety hazard. Now, this case is under further investigation.
